Rizal Park, Manila, Philippines

Rizal Park is an urban park situated in the heart of the city of Manila, Philippines. It is at the northern end of Roxas Boulevard, overlooking Manila Bay.

Rizal Park's history began in the early 18th century during the Spanish rule. While Manila's social and business activities were confined within Intramuros, a small area just south of the walls was cleared to prevent sneak attacks from the patriotic natives. The area was shaped like a small moon (lunette) and thus was named Luneta. The Park was also called Bagumbayan (English: New Town) in Spanish colonial era, and later known as Luneta.

MT. MARIA MAKILING (Haring Bato)
Maria Makiling is a guardian of the mountain, responsible for protecting its bounty and thus, is also a benefactor for the townspeople who depend on the mountain's resources. In addition to being a guardian of the mountain, some legends also identify Laguna de Bay - and the fish caught from it - as part of her domain. It is often said that Mount Makiling resembles the profile of a woman, said to be Maria herself. This phenomenon is described as true from several different perspectives, so there is no single location associated with this claim. The mountain's various peaks are said to be Maria's face and two breasts, respectively, and her hair cascades downwards a gentle slope away from her body. - From Wikipedia

White Island Sand Bar
is a sandbar of powdery white sand about two kilometers with no vegetation, no trees, and no shade except for small huts recently added. The sandbar can only be enjoyed during the morning low tide since it disappears under the sea in the afternoon when the tide is high. It is surrounded by crystal clear blue waters of the sea with the volcanic peaks of the island in the background. From the mainland of Camiguin Island, at barangay Yumbing of Mambajao, it is only a ten-minute boat ride on a native outrigger boat.

White Island
Two kilometers off the coast of Agoho, Mambajao is the Camiguin's popular sand bar. At times it is in the shape of the letter C, sometimes the letter I, depending on the ocean tide. It has the picturesque Mount Hibok-Hibok and Old Vulcan as its backdrop. It is ideal for swimming, sunbathing and snorkeling.
